Job Position(s): Post Engineer, Animation Series (Union 700)
Project Type: Animation
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

Netflix is hiring a Post Engineer for its Series Animation division in Los Angeles, California. This role sits inside the post production workflow for animated series, providing frontline engineering support to editorial teams working in Avid, Premiere, and DaVinci Resolve across both local and remote environments. It suits a technically grounded post production engineer who knows their way around shared storage, signal routing, and the specific demands of an animation post pipeline.

About the Role

The Post Engineer works within Netflix Series Animation, supporting the editorial infrastructure behind original animated series from ingest through picture finishing. Day to day, that means keeping Avid Nexis storage platforms running, configuring remote desktop endpoints for offsite editors, and troubleshooting whatever breaks before it costs a cutting room a half-day of work. This is production-critical support, not a help desk role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide rapid-response engineering triage for local and remote editors and assistant editors dealing with hardware failures, software bugs, or connectivity issues affecting editorial workflow.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot shared storage platforms including Avid Nexis, managing storage pools, NFS and SMB permissions, and user access structures specific to post production pipelines.
  • Keep core post production software operational across Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere, and DaVinci Resolve, including plugin dependencies such as BorisFX and iZotope.
  • Configure workstations, video signal routing, and display color calibration for editorial bays, with working knowledge of HDR and SDR color pipelines and audio setups.
  • Support 2110 and NDI infrastructure and protocols, and troubleshoot PCoIP and similar remote desktop hardware endpoints for distributed post production teams.
  • Assist with animation post production pipeline support including render farm troubleshooting in Deadline and workflow integration with tools such as Blender and Maya.

What You Bring

  • Five to seven years of post production engineering or technical support experience inside a studio or post facility environment.
  • Expertise in Avid Media Composer, Pro Tools, and Adobe Premiere, with Avid ACSR certification preferred.
  • Cross-platform troubleshooting proficiency across MacOS, Windows, and Linux, including command-line scripting and basic Python or Bash automation.
  • Working knowledge of VPN clients, ACLs, and end-user home network troubleshooting for remote post production support.
  • This is an IATSE Local 700 position covered by a collective bargaining agreement.

Why This Role

Netflix Series Animation is building original animated content at scale, and the engineering team supporting that work needs people who understand both the technical infrastructure and the production context it serves. Pay for this Post Engineer position is governed by the applicable collective bargaining agreement and will be no less than $3,735.80 per week, with any better terms as negotiated therein. For a post production engineer who wants to work on a significant animation slate with real resources behind it, this is a substantive staff role.

Apply now for the Post Engineer position with Netflix and bring your post production workflow experience to one of the most active animation studios operating today.
