NBCUniversal is hiring a Photographer/Editor for its Telemundo Enterprises division, based in New York. This role sits within field operations and is responsible for shooting and editing broadcast news content for Telemundo, covering everything from breaking news to long-form feature stories. It suits an experienced field operator who is equally comfortable behind a Sony FX9 on a live shot as they are cutting a finished package in Avid.

About the Role

You will work directly under the Manager of Field Operations, embedded within a broadcast news workflow that serves Telemundo’s live and recorded programming. Day-to-day production involves collaborating with correspondents and producers across series, special reports, and breaking news coverage. Domestic and international deployments are part of the job, which means you are managing your own equipment pack lists and running live broadcast transmission in the field.

Key Responsibilities

• Shoot and edit complete broadcast news stories to air-ready standards using Sony HD professional cameras including the FX9 and FX3.
• Operate bonded cellular transmission equipment such as LiveU to execute live broadcast scenarios independently in the field.
• Edit feature stories and breaking news packages on tight broadcast deadlines using Avid Media Composer 6.0 on a Mac operating system.
• Manage on-air lighting design and professional sound capture to meet HD broadcast technical standards.
• Transfer completed media via file-based workflows including tools such as Latakoo and Media Shuttle, following defined media and audio delivery standards.
• Maintain a full equipment inventory, operate crew vehicles, and handle all travel and expense administration tied to domestic and international productions.

What You Bring

• Minimum five years of experience as a field Photographer or Camera Operator in broadcast news or episodic television production.
• Minimum two years of editing experience, with proven proficiency in Avid Media Composer 6.0 on Mac.
• Hands-on experience with Sony FX9 and FX3 HD professional broadcast cameras.
• Demonstrated experience managing live transmissions via bonded cellular, satellite trucks, or local microwave systems.
• Working knowledge of file transfer tools used in broadcast post-production workflow, including Latakoo and Media Shuttle.
