On-Site Event Videographer

This is a camera operator role focused entirely on live event coverage, capturing weddings and similar events from start to finish with no post-production responsibilities. About the Role

You will be working within a dedicated event videography crew, handling primary camera operation across weddings held mostly in Rockland County, Orange County, Brooklyn, and Williamsburg. Most calls start between 5:00 and 6:00 PM and run through 2:00 or 3:00 AM, so this role is built around late-night availability with Sunday shifts being especially important. The Snipers Media Inc. does not work Friday nights or Saturdays, which makes the schedule genuinely different from most wedding video work.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate professional cameras throughout live wedding and event coverage, maintaining proper exposure, framing, and steady handheld or moving shots across varied lighting conditions.
• Move continuously through the venue to capture key moments, guest reactions, ceremony details, and wide environmental shots that support full event documentation.
• Set up and monitor stationary cameras and supporting recording equipment as part of the multi-camera event production workflow.
• Anticipate and position for scheduled and unscheduled moments, including toasts, first dances, and candid crowd coverage, without missing the shot.
• Pick up camera packages and equipment before each event and return all gear properly after the shoot wraps.
• Communicate with the rest of the crew throughout the event to stay aligned on schedule, positioning, and coverage priorities.

What You Bring

• Demonstrated experience operating professional cameras in live event videography or similar run-and-gun production environments.
• A solid working knowledge of shot composition, camera movement, and maintaining usable footage in low-light and nighttime settings.
• Prior wedding videography credits are a plus, though strong live event camera experience from other contexts will be considered.
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, as events are spread across multiple counties and boroughs.
• The discipline to work independently on location while staying accountable to a crew and an event timeline.
