FOX Entertainment is hiring an On-Campus Content Freelancer for the Big Ten Network, based out of Chicago, Illinois. This role sits within the Big Ten Network’s digital and social team, working directly alongside Multiplatform Video Producer/Editors to manage content distribution across broadcast, streaming, and social media channels throughout the college athletics calendar. It suits a socially fluent content professional who understands how live sports programming translates across platforms and knows Big Ten athletics well enough to move quickly when news breaks.

About the Role

This is a seasonal freelance position running July through May at roughly 40 hours per week, operating inside the On-Campus content unit that feeds Big Ten Network’s social, streaming, and broadcast multiplatform output. Day to day, the work involves scheduling and publishing content around live sporting events, coordinating with the broader digital team, and keeping all published material aligned with the network’s brand standards. This is a hybrid position, with time split between remote work and the Chicago office.

Key Responsibilities

• Publish and schedule content across Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, and YouTube in coordination with live event coverage across the Big Ten athletics calendar.
• Support On-Campus Multiplatform Video Producer/Editors with day-to-day content management, ensuring video assets are optimized for social media consumption before distribution.
• Monitor Big Ten news in real time and align with the digital team on social media strategy to keep the network’s multiplatform channels current and consistent.
• Distribute ad sales and sponsored social media campaigns produced by the On-Campus team to appropriate internal stakeholders across Remote, Studio, Originals, and Marketing.
• Deliver finished content packages to key internal departments while maintaining brand voice, grammar standards, and editorial quality across all posts.
• Assist with social media analytics reporting, pulling platform data to provide actionable insights back to the On-Campus team.

What You Bring

• At least one year of experience in social media, communications, or marketing, preferably within a sports media or sports television environment.
• Hands-on posting experience across Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube with a clear understanding of each platform’s content formats and audience behavior.
• Deep knowledge of Big Ten athletics, including familiarity with Big Ten Network’s programming, on-air talent, and brand initiatives.
• Availability to work nights and weekends around live event schedules, as the sports television calendar demands.
• Experience with social media analytics tools is preferred, and knowledge of the Emplifi platform is a plus.
• A background in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or Sport Management is preferred but not required.
