This role sits inside the broadcast news production workflow, supporting producers and associate producers through every stage of a live morning show, from preproduction research to on-air graphics and video editing. About the Role

The Production Assistant works directly within the Morning in America Weekend show team, contributing to both the preparation and execution of live weekend broadcasts on NewsNation. A typical day involves pulling research for hosts and producers, cutting video packages, coordinating guest logistics, and handling administrative support for senior staff. This is a ground-level role in episodic television news production where the output is a live broadcast, not a finished edit, so turnaround times are tight and accuracy matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct and compile research on current events and politics to brief hosts and producers ahead of each broadcast.
• Edit video clips and prepare graphics packages to meet the technical and editorial standards of a live morning news program.
• Coordinate on-air guest logistics, including communication and green room support on broadcast days.
• Work within newsroom production systems, specifically ENPS or iNews, to track rundowns and production notes.
• Complete administrative tasks assigned by senior producers and anchors, keeping the show’s back-end operations running on schedule.
• Participate in all daily show procedures across the full production cycle, from pitch through air.

What You Bring

• Minimum six months of television or streaming production experience, including internships in a news or talk show environment.
• Hands-on video editing experience suitable for broadcast news workflow.
• Working knowledge of ENPS or iNews newsroom production systems is preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in television or media production.
