Key Responsibilities

• Meet with ISSS staff during pre-production to establish goals, target audiences, and editorial direction for each video piece.
• Develop written outlines and visual storyboards to guide production before any camera rolls.
• Shoot and produce short-form video content using a mix of live footage, motion graphics, and animated text depending on the needs of each piece.
• Handle all post-production editing to deliver finished videos at three minutes or under, ensuring audio quality, visual clarity, and content coherence throughout.
• Incorporate music, lower thirds, titles, and graphics consistent with Middlebury College branding guidelines.
• Deliver final files in formats suited for social media, web publishing, and Canvas course embedding, and maintain an organized archive of all raw footage and project files.

What You Bring

• Demonstrated skills in short-form video production, including both field acquisition and post-production editing.
• Working knowledge of professional editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or a comparable non-linear editing platform.
• Experience with motion graphics, animated text, or basic visual storytelling techniques for informational content.
• Ability to manage a project independently from brief through delivery while meeting set deadlines.
• Current active student enrollment status at Middlebury College, with eligibility to work on-campus student employment positions.
