The Texas Film Commission is seeking a Frisco King to join their team in Texas. This role sits within production operations, supporting the commission’s work to attract, facilitate, and track film and television production activity across the state. It’s a fit for an experienced production professional who understands both the creative and logistical sides of episodic television and feature film production.

About the Role

The Frisco King position operates within the Texas Film Commission’s broader production services framework, working across a range of incoming and active projects from independent features to large-scale television productions. Day-to-day, this person serves as a point of contact and resource for productions setting up in Texas, helping them navigate locations, incentives, and on-set compliance requirements. The role demands familiarity with how productions are structured from pre-production through wrap.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a production liaison for incoming film and television projects seeking to shoot in Texas, coordinating between production teams and state resources.
  • Review and assess production documentation to ensure compliance with Texas Film Commission guidelines and applicable safety standards.
  • Support the implementation of workplace harassment prevention policies across productions at all budget levels.
  • Track active productions across the state and maintain accurate project records within the commission’s production database.
  • Communicate occupational health and safety best practices to production companies, with reference to current industry standards and Texas employee rights.
  • Assist in evaluating location requests and production incentive applications as part of the commission’s ongoing project intake workflow.

What You Bring

  • Demonstrated credits in film or television production, with direct experience in production coordination or production management.
  • Working knowledge of on-set safety protocols and industry-standard workplace compliance procedures.
  • Familiarity with feature film production and episodic television workflows from development through post-production.
  • Experience working with state or regional film offices, or in a production services capacity, is a strong advantage.
  • Strong organizational skills applied to multi-project tracking in a production office or commission environment.

Why This Role

The Texas Film Commission is a state office operating under the Governor’s office, with a long track record of supporting production activity across one of the most active film production states in the country. The Frisco King role offers direct involvement in shaping how productions land and operate in Texas, with exposure to a wide range of project types and budget levels. For someone looking to deepen their work in production infrastructure rather than on a single production, this is a substantive staff position.
