Job Position(s): Freelance Editorial Video Editor — Cultural Podcast
Project Type: TV Series
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

Twine is hiring a Freelance Editorial Video Editor for a cultural podcast series based in Birmingham, England, UK. This is a post-production role focused on delivering a full 15-episode season as polished long-form YouTube videos, complete with lower thirds, cleaned audio, and vertical social cuts per episode. It suits an editor with a background in documentary or editorial post-production workflow who understands how to serve a story rooted in cultural identity without reaching for flashy technique.

About the Role

You are cutting a complete podcast season for Twine, working across 12 solo episodes at roughly 30 minutes each and 3 guest episodes running closer to 45 minutes. The post-production workflow covers full editorial assembly, audio polish, graphic integration, and short-form deliverables for each episode. A typical session involves matching a reference visual style, building lower thirds that feel considered rather than templated, and producing three vertical clips per episode for platform distribution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Edit 15 episodes across two formats, managing pacing with a measured, editorial hand that serves conversation rather than competing with it.
  • Deliver each episode as a finished YouTube video with lower thirds, consistent colour treatment, and broadcast-quality audio output.
  • Produce three vertical short-form clips per episode cut for social distribution, maintaining the tone of the long-form editorial across formats.
  • Match reference styles provided by the production, ensuring the visual language stays warm and culturally resonant across the full season.
  • Handle audio balancing and cleanup within the edit to meet a high-quality standard without requiring a separate audio post pipeline.
  • Maintain version control and organised project file management across a 15-episode long-form post-production workflow.

What You Bring

  • Proven credits editing documentary, podcast video, or interview-driven long-form content for YouTube or similar platforms.
  • Fluency in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve at a professional level, with motion graphics work in After Effects for lower thirds.
  • A demonstrable feel for editorial pacing in conversation-led content, with restraint and intent over hype cuts.
  • Experience delivering vertical short-form edits alongside long-form episodic television or series work.
  • Ability to work independently across a full season without close supervision, managing your own deadlines and deliverables.

Why This Role

Twine is commissioning work that centres Caribbean diaspora perspectives across a full season, giving the right editor meaningful creative involvement in a culturally specific project with a defined editorial identity. The scope is substantial enough to build a strong series credit while working on content that has clear intent and point of view. No compensation details were specified in the brief, so candidates should confirm rate on application.
