Untold Studios is hiring a Compositor to join their VFX team in Toronto on a hybrid basis. This role sits inside the compositing department, where you’ll be integrating 2D, 3D, and live-action elements into finished visual effects shots across the studio’s production slate. About the Role

Compositors at Untold Studios work closely with Visual Effects Supervisors and Lead Artists throughout the VFX pipeline, from receiving the initial brief to delivering a polished, integrated shot. Day to day, that means attending dailies, interpreting feedback, managing your own shot queue, and keeping production informed on progress against schedule. The role carries real ownership, not just execution of tasks handed down from above.

Key Responsibilities

• Integrate 2D, 3D, and live-action elements to a high standard within the post-production workflow.
• Receive creative briefs from Lead Artists and VFX Supervisors and execute assigned shots to the required specification.
• Apply knowledge of CG techniques and artistic principles when building your own setups or working from pre-existing comp trees.
• Attend dailies, absorb constructive feedback, and implement changes accurately and efficiently.
• Liaise regularly with production and department leads to communicate your schedule and flag any delivery risks before they become problems.
• Take ownership of your workload across the full arc of a project, from first brief through to final delivery.

What You Bring

• Proven compositing credits within a VFX studio environment, whether episodic television, feature film production, or high-end commercial work.
• Strong working knowledge of industry standard compositing software used in professional VFX pipelines.
• Solid understanding of CG rendering, colour science, and how to marry CGI with live-action footage convincingly.
• The ability to read and respond to technical and creative direction from supervisors without constant oversight.
• Clear, professional communication habits, especially when flagging issues or presenting your work in a dailies setting.
