Finance Director – Mikros Animation

About the Role

Reporting to the Rodeo FX Group CFO, the Finance Director at Mikros Animation functions as the financial lead for an internationally recognized animation studio working across film and television productions. Day to day, this person is embedded in commercial, operational, and production conversations, providing financial analysis that shapes how projects are bid, resourced, and delivered. The role sits within a growth context, meaning the Finance Director is expected to build visibility and financial infrastructure alongside the existing Rodeo FX Group shared services team.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary financial business partner to the Studio President and management team, providing analysis that informs decisions on animation production priorities and studio growth.
• Support the bid and proposal process for incoming projects, assessing profitability assumptions, cost structures, and risk exposure across production territories.
• Lead budget planning and continuous forecasting cycles, monitoring variances in margins, costs, and cash flow against production commitments.
• Oversee accounting operations for Mikros Animation, ensuring financial reporting is accurate, compliant with applicable tax and regulatory obligations, and delivered on a reliable monthly cadence.
• Manage treasury operations and anticipate liquidity requirements across short, medium, and long-term production timelines.
• Collaborate with Rodeo FX Group finance teams to align reporting tools, accounting processes, and financial systems across entities in the animation studio group.

What You Bring

• Ten or more years of progressive finance experience, with a meaningful portion spent in a project-based industry such as animation, VFX production, or film and television.
• Demonstrated experience leading a finance team through a period of studio growth or restructuring.
• Hands-on knowledge of production budgeting, project profitability analysis, and bid financial modeling.
• CPA designation or equivalent professional accounting credential.
• Fluency in both French and English is an asset given the studio’s international production slate and Montreal base.
