Warner Bros. Discovery is hiring a Director, VOD & Streaming to join the CNN team at 30 Hudson Yards in New York. This role leads end-to-end production of original video series for CNN’s streaming platform, sitting at the intersection of editorial strategy, series development, and delivery pipeline management. It suits a senior production executive who has built and run teams across multiple concurrent series in premium digital or broadcast environments.

About the Role

The Director, VOD & Streaming reports to the Executive Producer and oversees a production unit made up of Senior Managers, Senior Producers, Producers, and Associate Producers working across CNN’s growing slate of streaming originals. Day to day, this person is moving projects through the full production cycle, from greenlight and pre-production through rough cut notes and final delivery, while keeping budgets, timelines, and editorial standards aligned. The role functions as the primary operational bridge between the Development team generating concepts and the production teams responsible for executing them at scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee end-to-end series production across a portfolio of original streaming titles, maintaining editorial quality and on-budget delivery at every stage.
  • Establish and refine production workflows that allow the team to scale episodic television output without sacrificing turnaround speed or creative standard.
  • Partner with Development to stress-test new concepts in pre-production and ensure pitches translate into executable, high-quality productions.
  • Provide editorial guidance at key checkpoints including pre-production planning, rough cut review, and final delivery sign-off.
  • Structure team assignments across series based on project complexity, production cadence, and available resources, flagging capacity risks before they become problems.
  • Serve as the senior escalation point for production challenges and represent the VOD and streaming team in cross-departmental conversations with Editorial, Audience, and Platform groups.

What You Bring

  • 12 or more years of video production experience with a focus on series, franchises, or recurring non-fiction formats.
  • 5 or more years in a production management or leadership role overseeing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated experience building post-production workflow systems in a streaming or premium digital environment.
  • Strong editorial judgment rooted in news, documentary, or premium non-fiction storytelling.
  • A track record of mentoring producers and developing production talent across a team.

Why This Role

Warner Bros. Discovery’s CNN is actively expanding its streaming originals slate, which means this Director, VOD & Streaming role carries real scope to shape how the brand builds its premium video output for the long term. The position sits inside one of the most recognized names in news and documentary production, with the infrastructure and editorial resources that come with that. For a senior producer ready to move into a true executive production role, the platform and the team size here are substantial.

Apply now for the Director, VOD & Streaming role at Warner Bros. Discovery and bring your series production experience to one of the most recognized streaming and broadcast operations in the industry.
