Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

Disney is hiring a Costumer (Casual Temporary) for its Live Entertainment division based in Lake Buena Vista, FL. This role sits within the costume production department, taking garments from initial design concept through manufacturing and onto the stage for theme park shows, resort productions, and live entertainment experiences. It suits a working costume professional with hands-on knowledge of garment construction, sourcing, and production management who is comfortable operating across both the creative and logistical sides of a costume shop.

About the Role

The Costumer reports to the Area Manager of Costume Production and Sustainment within Disney Live Entertainment, the division responsible for theatrical productions seen across Disney parks, resort hotels, and cruise ships. Day to day, this person is coordinating fittings, sourcing fabrics and trims, building production timelines, and working directly with designers, show producers, and workroom staff to keep costume quality consistent across live entertainment productions. This is a casual temporary position, meaning hours fluctuate based on production needs with no guaranteed weekly schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Entertainment and Costuming Operations to maintain design integrity and costume quality across active shows.
  • Produce cost estimates, manage lead timelines, and develop budgets for new and replacement costume builds.
  • Work alongside designers to identify fabrics, trims, and garment accessories while accounting for climate, performer safety, and stage functionality.
  • Source vendors for materials and finished goods, attending trade shows to stay current with costume production methods and materials.
  • Document costumes and production processes across multiple formats for historical record and production analysis.
  • Guide and mentor hourly union cast members through their show responsibilities, providing feedback on costume care, line setup, and show standards.

What You Bring

  • At least one year of experience in live entertainment, theatre, film production, fashion, or a related field.
  • At least one year working directly with garment construction and textiles.
  • Demonstrated experience managing production or project lifecycles, including budgeting and purchasing apparel-related goods.
  • Familiarity with PLM and purchasing software is a plus.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with an advanced degree in Costuming, Costume Design, Textiles, Theatre, or Fashion Design preferred.
  • Spanish or Vietnamese language skills are a plus given the multilingual nature of the production environment.

Why This Role

Disney Live Entertainment produces theatrical costume work at a scale few live entertainment operations can match, giving a Costumer direct access to top-tier designers and a production slate that spans parks, ships, and resort venues. The hiring range for this position in Florida is $34,020.00 to $45,600.00 per year, with compensation varying based on experience, skills, and internal equity, plus potential bonus and a full benefits package. For a costume professional looking to build credits across live entertainment production, the breadth of projects here is hard to find elsewhere.

Apply now for the Costumer (Casual Temporary) role with Disney and bring your costume production experience to one of the largest live entertainment operations in the industry.
