A typical day might move from a morning shoot to an afternoon edit session, with the expectation that both are delivered to the same professional standard under the same tight turnaround.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating camera on location to capture clean, editorial footage that meets broadcast acquisition standards without a dedicated camera assistant.
• Editing acquired footage through a full post-production workflow to produce finished packages for broadcast, digital, and social distribution.
• Working directly with a producer on set to ensure coverage meets the editorial requirements of the cut before leaving location.
• Managing the technical pipeline from card offload through to export, maintaining media organisation across a fast-turnaround broadcast schedule.
• Shooting and cutting content for social platforms alongside primary broadcast deliverables, adapting format and pacing for each output.
• Travelling to locations outside London as required, including overnight assignments, while maintaining delivery commitments to the production schedule.

What You Bring

• Proven credits as a camera operator and editor in broadcast television, news, or factual production.
• Confidence operating professional broadcast cameras without crew support in editorial and documentary contexts.
• Hands-on experience with industry-standard non-linear editing software used in broadcast post-production.
• A working understanding of the technical requirements for broadcast delivery, including codec, frame rate, and audio specifications.
• Experience cutting content for social platforms alongside long-form or linear broadcast output.
