CGN is hiring a Broadcast Camera Operator / Production for live golf coverage in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, with the event taking place at Fallen Oak Golf at Beau Rivage Resort and Casino in Saucier, MS. This role sits within the broadcast production team, responsible for capturing live on-course action and contributing to the real-time sports broadcast workflow across three broadcast days in October 2026. It suits early-career camera operators or recent film and media production graduates looking to build credits in live sports broadcasting.

About the Role

The Broadcast Camera Operator / Production works directly within CGN’s broadcast and communications team during a three-day live golf production event scheduled for October 5 through 7, 2026, with availability required for all three days. Day-to-day work involves pre-broadcast planning sessions with CGN production staff, operating a camera on the golf course during live coverage, and handling light post-production editing as needed. The production environment is outdoor and weather-dependent, which is standard for live sports broadcast work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a broadcast camera on the golf course during live event coverage, tracking players and capturing action across multiple holes.
  • Attend pre-production meetings with the CGN broadcast team to align on shot lists, logistics, and coverage plans before broadcast days begin.
  • Troubleshoot camera, stabilizer, or tripod issues on the fly to maintain continuous live production output.
  • Edit footage using Adobe Premiere, Lightroom, or Photoshop as required during or after broadcast segments.
  • Contribute practical input during production planning to support the overall live sports broadcast workflow.
  • Handle additional production-related tasks as assigned by the CGN on-site production team.

What You Bring

  • Hands-on experience in photography and videography, with working knowledge of camera operation and support equipment including tripods and stabilizers.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Premiere, Lightroom, and Photoshop in a production context.
  • Familiarity with golf sufficient to anticipate player movement and frame live action effectively.
  • A degree in film, media production, or a related field is a plus, as is prior work as a production assistant or in a comparable live broadcast role.
  • Valid driver’s license and the physical ability to work on your feet outdoors for extended periods, including lifting up to 20 pounds.

Why This Role

CGN offers early-career camera operators direct access to a live sports broadcast production environment, which is difficult credit to come by without prior industry connections. The three-day format at a recognized resort venue gives candidates real on-course, on-camera broadcast experience that translates directly to future live television and sports production work. This is a short-term, high-value production credit for anyone building toward a career in live broadcast or sports media.
