Job Type
Disney is hiring an Associate Production Engineer based in Los Angeles, CA to support broadcast and media technology operations at Hollywood Park ESPN. This role sits within the Production Technologies team, keeping live show infrastructure, streaming delivery systems, and studio broadcast workflows running across multiple distribution channels. It suits an IT or systems professional who has worked in a broadcast or media environment and knows how to keep things moving when air time is non-negotiable.
About the Role
The Production Technologies team functions as the technical backbone for Disney’s live broadcast operations, supporting control rooms, enterprise network infrastructure, and the end-user devices that production and creative teams depend on daily. This engineer works across on-air productions, live show environments, and broadcast workflow support, taking direction from senior engineers and a manager to execute day-to-day operations. A typical shift might involve resolving an incident on a shared production machine, supporting a conference room setup for a live event, or responding to a network outage during an after-hours broadcast window.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide frontline incident resolution and change support for broadcast production systems across PC, Mac, smartphones, tablets, and peripherals.
- Manage OS imaging, patch cycles, and software deployment including Creative Cloud across all studio platforms.
- Support live broadcast operations with after-hours and weekend availability as part of a scheduled 24/7 on-air support rotation.
- Perform infrastructure maintenance, conference room support, and asset management including office moves and equipment reallocations.
- Conduct diagnostic testing and collaborate with network and systems teams to identify and resolve outages affecting broadcast delivery pipelines.
- Execute preventative maintenance across all production systems and equipment to maintain uptime standards for studio operations.
What You Bring
- Previous help desk or desktop support experience, ideally within a broadcast, media production, or live television environment.
- Working knowledge of IT service management practices and general networking infrastructure.
- Jamf experience and familiarity with endpoint management and application packaging are a plus.
- CompTIA A+, Apple Certified Macintosh Technician (ACMT), or Cisco Certified Technician (CCT) certification is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays in support of a 24/7 broadcast operation.
Why This Role
Disney’s Production Technologies group supports some of the most watched live broadcast and streaming content in the country, giving engineers in this seat direct exposure to enterprise-scale media production infrastructure. The hiring range for this Associate Production Engineer position in Los Angeles, CA is $73,100 to $98,000, with potential bonus and long-term incentive units, plus a full benefits package. For a broadcast technology professional looking to build a career inside a major studio environment, the production scale and operational complexity here are hard to match.
Apply now for the Associate Production Engineer role at Disney and bring your broadcast support experience to one of the industry’s most recognized production operations.
