PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £30,000 – £45,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF

THE ROLE

Are you a visionary digital AP with a track record of creativity and innovation in digital production? Are you looking for an opportunity to produce digital content that will have an impact on how the UK’s youngest audiences engage with the BBC and iPlayer?

The Children’s and Education Digital Media, Platforms and Planning team is looking for an ambitious and creative AP to join our Digital Production Unit, working alongside our Content Impact, Social and You Tube teams. Reporting to the Digital Production Unit’s Digital Producer, you will help generate and produce high-impact and original digital assets promoting our priority titles across our 0-6 and 7+ brands, from fun factual entertainment including Horrible Histories and Operation Ouch to tween dramas The Next Step and Crookhaven, working with some of Children’s BBC’s biggest talent to produce distinctive and ground-breaking content for You Tube and Social that sparks viral conversations across the internet.

The Digital Production Unit creates promotional content for some of the BBC’s key social media brands including @CBBC, @BBCiPlayer and t content will introduce young audiences, and sometimes their parents and carers, to our shows and encourage them to spend time consuming them BBC iPlayer.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Assistant Producer with exceptional organisation skills and an abundance of creativity, who is willing to travel around the UK on various planned shoots.

YOUR

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT

  • To produce truly outstanding content for young audiences. You will understand this audience and their world and apply this into developing and producing new ideas.
  • Deliver end to end content production, from ideation and filming to editing and final delivery.
  • To build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Working particularly closely with wider BBC Children’s and social teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring all content is planned, produced and delivered on time – often to tight deadlines.
  • Responsible for supporting and overseeing junior team members, ensuring clear direction and high standards of delivery across all work

You will also be required to travel across the UK and lead on location shoots across our busy summer schedule. While most are planned and during the week, some last-minute shoots can crop up both mid-week and occasionally at the weekend.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • Strong background in on location production and end to end content delivery, with confident self shooting skills using Sony FX6, Sony A7S and iPhone 15.
  • Confident self shooter skills using Sony FX6, Sony A7S, iPhone 15, and the ability to manage your own audio, lighting if needed.
  • Adept at working efficiently often within tight or changeable filming schedules.
  • Highly efficient in fast paced environments with tight or changeable filming schedules, able to juggle multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt quickly to evolving demands.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Premiere Pro and Photoshop (After Effects desirable).
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.

DESIRABLE

  • Understanding of Children’s (0–6, 7–12, teens) and/or young adult (16–24) digital audiences and their content preferences.
  • Skilled in creating GFX for digital content and platforms.
