Job Overview

The Row is looking for volunteer actors/actresses to participate in one-time TikTok-style promotional videos for our Canadian university campus magazine. This role is ideal for students who are comfortable on camera, familiar with TikTok trends, and excited to help bring authentic campus storytelling to life.

Volunteers will help create short-form promotional content for TikTok and social media. Videos may include casual campus scenes, scripted or semi-scripted moments, lifestyle clips, relatable student experiences, interviews, or trend-based content that reflects the energy and personality of student life.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and currently enrolled as a student at a Canadian university or college. Volunteers should also be confident on camera, collaborative, and comfortable using TikTok, including an understanding of current trends, sounds, formats, and short-form video style.

By participating, volunteers must consent to being filmed and understand that the final content may be posted publicly on The Row’s TikTok, social media platforms, website, or other promotional channels.

This is a flexible, one-time volunteer opportunity for students interested in social media, acting, campus media, creative production, or digital storytelling. No professional acting experience is required. As a thank-you for participating, The Row is happy to provide a reference or recommendation letter upon request.

Duties

• Participate in one-time TikTok-style promotional videos for The Row.
• Arrive on time and prepared for scheduled shoots.
• Appear on camera in casual, scripted, or semi-scripted short-form video content.
• Help bring campus-focused concepts, trends, and story ideas to life in an authentic and engaging way.
• Follow simple creative direction during filming while contributing a natural, student-centered presence.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with other actors/actresses and members of The Row team.
• Collaborate with the creative/content team to support a smooth, positive filming experience.
• Represent the tone of The Row by helping capture campus culture, student life, and Greek row experiences in a relatable way.
• Consent to being filmed and understand that final content may be shared publicly across The Row’s TikTok, social media, website, or promotional platforms.
• Understand that this is a volunteer position and does not include financial compensation.

Skills

• Comfortable appearing on camera in short-form video content.
• Familiar with TikTok, current trends, sounds, formats, and social media culture.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work respectfully with other actors/actresses and members of The Row.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to arrive prepared for scheduled shoots.
• Friendly, confident, and natural on camera.
• Able to follow creative direction while bringing personality and authenticity to the role.
• Collaborative and open to feedback during filming.
• Interested in campus culture, storytelling, student life, media, or creative content production.
• Must be at least 18 years old and currently enrolled at a Canadian university or college.
• Understands that this is a volunteer position and that content may be shared publicly across The Row’s platforms.
