Job Position(s): Video Editor and Studio Assistant
Project Type: Film & Television
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

ProductionBase is hiring a Video Editor and Studio Assistant based in Manchester, England to join their in-house content production team. This role sits within a studio production workflow, covering end-to-end post-production editing of studio-recorded video content alongside hands-on support during live recording days. It suits an editor who is comfortable moving between the edit suite and the studio floor, working directly with producers to deliver finished content on schedule.

About the Role

The position sits within the content production department at ProductionBase, a company that serves the film and television industry through its platform and original output. Day-to-day work splits between editing studio-recorded footage through the full post-production workflow and providing practical on-set assistance when the studio is in use. You will be working closely with producers, which means your editorial decisions feed directly into the final deliverable with minimal layers between you and the output.

Key Responsibilities

  • Edit studio-recorded video content from assembly cut through to picture lock, managing your own timeline and delivering to agreed turnaround schedules.
  • Support recording days in a studio assistant capacity, which may include camera operation, sound monitoring, or floor management depending on production requirements.
  • Work directly with producers during the post-production workflow to incorporate feedback, handle revisions, and prepare final export deliverables.
  • Manage media ingest, file organisation, and project archiving in line with the studio’s production asset management system.
  • Handle basic colour correction and audio mixing within the edit to bring sequences to a broadcast-ready standard before final delivery.
  • Maintain continuity across a series of studio-produced episodes or segments, ensuring consistency in pacing, graphics, and audio treatment.

What You Bring

  • Demonstrable experience editing video content in a professional production environment, with a showreel or credits to support your application.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro or a comparable NLE, with working knowledge of Adobe After Effects considered an advantage.
  • Familiarity with studio production workflows, including experience supporting crew on recording days rather than purely in post.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously without losing accuracy on individual edits or deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills when working alongside producers, with a clear process for taking and actioning editorial notes.

Why This Role

ProductionBase has an established presence in the UK film and television industry, which gives this role genuine reach in terms of the audience engaging with the content you produce. Working across both studio production and post-production editing means you build a broader credit base than a purely editorial position would offer. Manchester has a growing production sector, and this role places you within it at a company with direct industry connections.

Apply now for the Video Editor and Studio Assistant role at ProductionBase and bring your post-production experience to a team that makes content for the industry itself.
