Project Type: Film & Television
Job Date: Internship
Compensation: Paid Internship

Disney is hiring an ESPN Post Edit Intern for its Creative Studio in Bristol, CT, running January through May 2027. This role sits inside ESPN’s post-production team, where the intern supports non-linear editing across short and long-form sports features, highlights, marketing content, and broadcast studio productions. It suits an upper-level film or communications student who already has real editing credits and wants hands-on experience inside a major sports broadcast post workflow.

About the Role

The ESPN Post Edit team handles content from initial concept through final delivery, covering everything from event coverage and studio productions to animation, ad sales, and digital features. As an ESPN Post Edit Intern, you work alongside editors and producers inside the Creative Studio’s post-production pipeline, getting direct exposure to broadcast editorial standards and the technical infrastructure behind live sports programming. Days involve supporting active editing projects, learning platform-specific workflows, and contributing to real deliverables across ESPN properties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting non-linear video editing on sports broadcast content across ESPN studio and event productions using professional post-production workflow tools.
  • Cutting and assembling short and long-form features, highlights, and marketing assets inside Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
  • Learning Creative Studio Post editorial standards, including delivery specifications and platform requirements for ESPN’s digital and broadcast outputs.
  • Developing hands-on experience with broadcast equipment and editing technology while managing simultaneous assignments across live production timelines.
  • Collaborating with editors, producers, and cross-functional production teams while building familiarity with the full post-production workflow from rough cut to delivery.
  • Tracking project status and managing communication through Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365 tools in line with team protocols.

What You Bring

  • Demonstrated editing experience using Adobe Suite, specifically Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop.
  • Previous post-production editing credits from campus, freelance, or internship work, with a portfolio or reel required to apply.
  • Proficiency in Windows-based environments and Microsoft 365 for production tracking and team collaboration.
  • Working knowledge of professional and collegiate sports, including teams, leagues, athletes, and current storylines.
  • Enrollment in an accredited college or university, with senior standing preferred, in Communications, Journalism, Post-Production, or a related field.

Why This Role

ESPN’s Creative Studio operates at the center of sports media production, and an ESPN Post Edit Intern placed inside that department gets direct access to broadcast-level post-production at a scale few internships can offer. Disney pays $23.00 per hour for this role in Connecticut, with select benefits potentially included depending on position level. The internship runs full-time, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, from January through May 2027.
