Job Position(s): YouTube Video Editor (Freelance / Contract)
Project Type: Film & Television
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

Mobbin, a design reference platform headquartered in Singapore and operating fully remote, is hiring a freelance YouTube Video Editor to join their content team. This is a post-production role focused on long-form YouTube content, where the editor takes raw talking-head footage, screen recordings, and scripted material through the full offline and online editorial process to a finished, publish-ready cut. It suits an experienced editor who has worked independently on YouTube-native content and understands the specific demands of the format, from retention editing to sound design for dialogue-heavy educational video.

About the Role

This role sits inside a small content operation run by a single channel lead, meaning the editor works closely with one point of contact and owns the cut from assembly through final delivery. Projects include UI/UX teardowns, product deep-dives, and educational content built around screen recordings of software interfaces. The post-production workflow is async, with feedback handled through review tools rather than live meetings, so the editor manages their own schedule and communicates through the project files themselves.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cut long-form YouTube videos from raw talking-head footage and screen recordings, owning pacing decisions that reduce perceived runtime without losing instructional clarity.
  • Handle sound design and dialogue mixing, selecting music and effects that add polish without competing with the primary narration track.
  • Apply color correction, clean caption work, and on-screen text callouts that make UI details legible across different playback sizes.
  • Manage project file organization across rounds of revision so that nothing is lost between feedback loops and turnaround stays predictable.
  • Edit for YouTube retention specifically, structuring hooks and pacing the first 30 seconds to hold audience attention in long-form post-production workflow.

What You Bring

  • A portfolio or channel that demonstrates editorial storytelling in long-form YouTube content, not just technical proficiency in the timeline.
  • Fluency in Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or a professional equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of YouTube as a distribution format, including retention curves, hook structure, and format-specific pacing.
  • Experience operating as a self-directed contractor, hitting agreed deadlines and flagging production issues early.
  • Motion graphics experience in After Effects, thumbnail design sense, or prior use of Frame.io or equivalent review platforms is a bonus.

Why This Role

Mobbin has built a user base of over three million designers and product professionals almost entirely through organic growth, which means the YouTube channel this editor supports is a primary growth channel, not a side project. The team operates with a low-meeting culture and high editorial autonomy, which suits an editor who wants real ownership over the cut rather than committee-driven revision cycles. This is a part-time contract position with global remote flexibility, open to candidates in any country.

Apply for the YouTube Video Editor role at Mobbin and submit your portfolio or channel for review.
