TMT Education is hiring a Makeup Educator for the Diploma of Screen and Media (Specialist Make-up Services), based across Melbourne CBD and Braeside, Victoria. This role sits at the training end of the screen makeup pipeline, responsible for producing work-ready artists across beauty, character, SFX, prosthetics, and hair for film, television, and theatre production. About the Role

The Makeup Educator Diploma of Screen and Media (Specialist Make-up Services) at TMT Education delivers CUA51020 across practical and theory sessions, covering the full range of specialist units from screen beauty and media makeup through to character and SFX work. Classes run with students attending both in-person and remotely in the same session, so managing a hybrid room is a core part of the job, not an occasional adjustment. Assessment, marking, LMS records, and audit-ready documentation are part of the weekly rhythm alongside hands-on delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver and assess CUA51020 Diploma of Screen and Media (Specialist Make-up Services) units across beauty, character, SFX, prosthetics, and hair as rostered, following the training and assessment strategy and session plans.
• Manage hybrid delivery in a single session, maintaining consistent standards for students attending on-site and those joining remotely from the same class.
• Assess student work against unit benchmarks using observation, finished products, questioning, and projects, and record a not-yet-competent result when the evidence does not meet the standard.
• Complete rolls, feedback, results, and LMS entries within required timeframes and keep practical assessment recordings and student work audit-ready.
• Maintain a current trainer file including qualifications, professional development records, and evidence of ongoing industry practice in screen makeup, film, television, or SFX production.
• Participate in validation and internal audit processes as rostered and work with the enrolment and admin team on class lists and student completion issues.

What You Bring

• TAE40122 or TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or an equivalent credential accepted under the Standards for RTOs.
• Vocational competency at or above Diploma level in specialist makeup services, demonstrated through a relevant qualification and current industry evidence from screen, film, television, theatre, editorial, or SFX production.
• Current working practice as a makeup artist in screen or media contexts, not solely salon or bridal work.
• Right to work in Australia, a current Working with Children Check, and an Australian Federal Police Check, or the ability to obtain these before starting.
• The ability to demonstrate Diploma-level techniques, articulate technical decisions clearly, and correct student work through coaching rather than taking over the task.
