Project Type: Documentary
Job Date: Full Time

Kroenke Sports and Entertainment is hiring a Lead Video Editor for the Colorado Avalanche, based in Denver, CO. This role sits within Avalanche Agency, KSE’s in-house content and marketing entity, and is responsible for editing everything from in-arena hype packages and team opens to social-first cuts optimized for TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram. It suits an experienced post-production editor with a genuine sports portfolio who is comfortable owning a full editorial pipeline under seasonal deadlines.

About the Role

The Lead Video Editor works inside the Avalanche Agency’s content team, reporting to the Sr. Director of Video Content and Production, and directly manages a Sr. Video Editor. Day-to-day post-production workflow spans broadcast-ready deliverables, digital platform content, and feature storytelling around players and team narrative. This is an editorial lead position, meaning you are setting the creative standard for the department’s output, not just cutting assigned projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Edit and deliver video content across in-arena display, broadcast, and social platforms, maintaining consistent color grading and brand tone throughout.
  • Build hype videos, team opens, and player features that meet the pacing and storytelling demands of live sports content production.
  • Optimize cuts for each platform’s format and algorithm behavior, including vertical video for TikTok and YouTube Shorts and standard formats for Facebook and X.
  • Handle full audio post-production workflow, including dialogue cleanup, ambient sound, music placement, and licensing compliance.
  • Maintain an organized media library with consistent metadata, ensuring project files and backups are retrievable across a large seasonal archive.
  • Manage the Sr. Video Editor, providing creative direction and production support across concurrent projects throughout the hockey season.

What You Bring

  • A strong sports video editing portfolio covering highlights, promos, features, or documentary-style work at a professional level.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, with solid motion graphics capabilities.
  • Hands-on experience with color correction and grading for both web and broadcast delivery.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously across a live-event sports content calendar, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Previous experience supervising or mentoring editorial staff in a sports media or broadcast production environment.

Why This Role

Kroenke Sports and Entertainment operates one of the most recognized sports content operations in North America, and this position puts you at the creative center of an NHL franchise’s entire video output. The salary range for this full-time role is $90,000 to $100,000, with benefits including health insurance, 401K, HSA, FSA plans, and paid time off. Applications are reviewed through September 23, 2026.

Apply now for the Lead Video Editor position with Kroenke Sports and Entertainment and bring your sports post-production experience to one of the league’s top franchises.
