Production Manager Vfx
- Full Time
- Central London, England, UK
Wpp Production
WPP Production is hiring a Production Manager VFX based in Central London to join their dedicated Ford global content team. This role sits at the operational centre of a high-output CGI pipeline, managing the end-to-end production of automotive animation, stills, and motion content across Ford’s global marketing platforms. It suits a production manager who has hands-on experience coordinating VFX pipelines and understands the specific demands of CGI-driven commercial content at scale.
About the Role
The Production Manager VFX works within WPP Production’s VFX, CGI, Motion and Automotive Content department, reporting to the Head of VFX Operations. Day-to-day output spans feature animations, mechanical explainers, Build and Price stills, 360-degree motion assets, and variant-informed sequences built for Ford’s global platforms. A typical day involves tracking progress across rigging, lighting, compositing, and rendering stages while managing artist schedules and keeping cross-functional teams aligned across time zones.
Key Responsibilities
- Own daily and weekly production scheduling across all Ford CGI deliverables, including stills, animation sequences, and feature explainers.
- Track every stage of the VFX pipeline, from rigging and look development through to compositing, grading, and finishing, identifying bottlenecks before they affect delivery.
- Manage render farm scheduling in coordination with engineering teams to maintain pipeline stability and meet output targets.
- Support creative leads and producers in shaping briefs, animatics, and storyboards, ensuring timing and narrative are locked before animation begins.
- Oversee versioning, approvals, and delivery workflows, making sure all assets meet Ford’s technical specifications and brand standards.
- Coordinate directly with CGI artists, animators, FX artists, lighters, and compositors to align on scope, capacity, and creative expectations throughout production.
What You Bring
- Proven experience managing a CGI or VFX pipeline on commercial or automotive content, ideally within an animation studio or post-production workflow environment.
- Solid understanding of CGI production stages including rigging, keyframe animation, lighting, compositing, and rendering.
- Experience scheduling across multi-disciplinary teams and managing delivery across multiple time zones simultaneously.
- Familiarity with production tracking tools used in VFX pipeline management and asset versioning.
- Ability to work in a hybrid setup with the team present in the Central London office around four days per week.
Why This Role
WPP Production operates as the unified production engine across all of WPP’s global content output, which means genuine scale and variety of work for anyone on the team. This specific role gives a Production Manager VFX direct ownership of a major automotive account with a complex, ongoing content pipeline rather than one-off project work. The London base puts you inside one of the most active commercial production networks in the industry.
Apply now for the Production Manager VFX role at WPP Production and take on one of the more substantial CGI production mandates currently available in Central London.
