It is best suited to a seasoned production professional who understands how to hold a complex show together from initial planning through to final client delivery.
About the Role
The VFX Show Production Lead works embedded within DNEG’s feature film pipeline, partnering directly with VFX Producers and Supervisors to manage schedules, crews, and deliverables across sites. On any given day, this person is tracking asset milestones, aligning department managers to updated briefs, and keeping client communication clear and current. The role carries real authority over how the production team is structured and how the show moves forward at every stage.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the VFX Producer and Supervisors to build the show plan, including milestone schedules for assets, shots, temps, and finals.
- Lead the production team day-to-day, setting priorities and maintaining accountability across coordinators, line producers, and department managers.
- Identify and resolve creative and technical production challenges before they affect the VFX pipeline or client deadlines.
- Align crew assignments and shot briefs across multiple facilities to ensure consistent output quality throughout the feature film VFX workflow.
- Serve as a primary production contact for clients, managing expectations and communicating schedule or scope changes clearly and promptly.
- Define and track internal delivery targets to keep the post-production workflow on schedule from early temp pulls through picture lock and beyond.
What You Bring
- Substantial experience in VFX production management on feature film projects, with credits that reflect increasing responsibility over time.
- Proven ability to manage multi-site productions and coordinate crews across different departments and time zones.
- Fluency in production tracking tools and scheduling software standard to VFX post-production environments.
- Strong client-facing communication skills developed across the full arc of a feature film VFX production.
- A working understanding of VFX pipeline stages, from pre-production asset builds through to final compositing and delivery.
