Head of Production Finance, INK

Netflix is hiring a Head of Production Finance for INK, its new Animation Ink studio, based in Los Angeles, California. About the Role

INK is a new animation studio within Netflix, and this is a ground-up build, not a backfill. The Head of Production Finance will be the first senior production finance voice in the room, establishing the infrastructure, systems, and team that the studio will run on as its slate grows. Day to day, that means writing policy, standing up GL and production accounting systems, managing cross-functional relationships with Content Accounting, FP&A, Payroll, and Labor Relations, and keeping estimated final costs accurate across active animation productions.

Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end financial management of the INK animation slate, including production budgets, cost reports, estimated final costs, and cash flow across all active titles.
• Design and implement production finance processes and policies suited to a startup studio environment, adapting existing Netflix Production Finance practices where they fit and building new ones where they do not.
• Manage production incentive strategy and workflow, ensuring accurate and timely receipt of tax credits and cash rebates tied to the animation production schedule.
• Stand up relevant systems in partnership with Netflix IT, evaluating and recommending production accounting tools as INK scales its slate.
• Review trial balances, reconciliations, and cost reports to identify financial risk areas early, resolving issues cross-functionally before they affect production.
• Build and lead a small production finance team, providing mentorship and development as the animation studio grows its headcount and project volume.

What You Bring

• 10 to 12 or more years of production finance and production accounting experience, with direct animation studio credits strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience building a production finance function or team from scratch, including process design and policy development.
• Hands-on knowledge of GL systems including SAP, Oracle, or Workday, and production accounting systems such as Global Vista or PSL+.
• Strong command of production incentive workflows, including tax credit and cash rebate processes across multiple jurisdictions.
• Proven track record influencing senior creative, technology, and business leadership on financial decisions in a production environment.
