Job Type
Host Broadcast Services is hiring a Junior Video Editor based in London, England, to join their non-live production team. This role sits within the editorial department, producing promos, short-form features, highlight clips, and social content for delivery to global rights-holders across broadcast and digital platforms. It suits an early-career editor who has cut their teeth on sports or documentary content and is ready to work at the scale of major international sports broadcast.
About the Role
The Junior Video Editor works within the non-live production team at Host Broadcast Services, contributing to creative output for Project B, an international sports broadcast production connected to events including the FIFA World Cup 26 and FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027. Day-to-day, you are prepping and cutting content across multiple formats, supporting motion design work in After Effects, and operating within a post-production workflow that feeds broadcasters worldwide. The role requires at least three days per week in the Central London office and includes periods of international travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Cut promos, short-form features, highlight packages, and social clips to broadcast delivery standards across multiple output formats.
- Build and adapt motion graphics templates and visual treatments using After Effects as part of the post-production workflow.
- Work within file-based workflows, managing media organisation and version control in close coordination with Media Managers and Senior Editors.
- Support Senior and Junior Producers in delivering edits that meet both creative briefs and platform-specific technical requirements.
- Maintain output quality and consistency across a high volume of content under tight editorial deadlines.
- Contribute to content production on-location during international events, including extended trips away from base.
What You Bring
- At least one year of professional editing experience, ideally in sports broadcast production or documentary post-production.
- Advanced skills in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, with working knowledge across the Adobe Creative Cloud suite.
- A strong understanding of basketball as a sport and its visual culture, which directly informs editorial tone on this project.
- Familiarity with multi-camera broadcast environments and remote collaboration tools is a genuine advantage.
- Fluent English and the ability to work clearly across an international production team.
Why This Role
Host Broadcast Services is the production company behind the host broadcast of the FIFA World Cup, giving editors on their roster credits tied to some of the most-watched live sports events in the world. For a Junior Video Editor, this is direct exposure to international sports broadcast production at a scale that very few entry-level roles can offer. The production slate across 2026 and 2027 means genuine continuity of work and the chance to build a credit list across multiple marquee events.
