Job Type
Disney is hiring a Recurring Remote Production Support Content Editor to work remotely across the United States. This role sits within ESPN’s post-production workflow, editing features, teases, and packages for broadcast output while also handling media ingest, file conversion, graphics creation, and audio production support. It’s a strong fit for an editor who knows sports content, can move fast across multiple project types, and is comfortable owning sessions without hand-holding.
About the Role
You’ll be embedded in ESPN’s production support structure, cutting content across a range of broadcast deliverables on Avid and Adobe After Effects. A typical day involves staffing editing sessions, managing media through the full post-production pipeline, and turning around polished content under broadcast deadlines. This is a part-time, recurring remote position with no fixed office location, so you’ll need to be self-sufficient in your setup and workflow.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit basic to standard broadcast content including features, teases, and packages using Avid and Adobe After Effects.
- Manage media ingest, output, file conversions, and quality control across ESPN’s post-production pipeline.
- Identify and report technical issues in real time, keeping sessions on schedule and broadcast-ready.
- Staff daily editing sessions across assigned projects, maintaining consistency with departmental standard operating procedures.
- Apply strong knowledge of audio production, color correction, and graphics creation to deliver polished broadcast content.
- Participate in bi-monthly clinical workshops and contribute to special projects as they come up in the production schedule.
What You Bring
- A minimum of 2 years of non-linear editing experience in a broadcast or post-production environment.
- Hands-on experience with Avid, Final Cut, Premiere, or Quantel editing platforms.
- Solid understanding of broadcast measurements, A/V formats, and editing file structures used in episodic television or sports production.
- Ability to craft story arc structure through effective pacing and sound-on-tape sequencing without producer direction.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays, with the ability to travel when required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; a college or technical degree in television production, communications, or electronics is preferred.
Why This Role
Disney’s ESPN operation is one of the most active broadcast production environments in the country, with constant demand for editors who understand live sports content and can deliver across a high volume of formats. The pay rate for this remote role is $55.00 to $100.00 per hour, with the actual rate depending on geographic region, experience, and skills. Benefits including medical and financial options may be offered depending on position level.
