The Digital Producer works within a team that feeds content to multiple distribution points simultaneously, from breaking news alerts to social video, operating alongside reporters, editors, and on-air talent. A typical day involves monitoring developing stories, writing for SEO, publishing to the CMS, and making quick editorial calls on what gets surfaced and how.

Key Responsibilities

• Write, edit, and publish breaking news content across ABC7’s digital platforms, applying AP style and strong news judgment under deadline pressure.
• Manage social media publishing and platform strategy across all active channels, with an eye toward audience engagement and reach metrics.
• Apply SEO best practices to digital storytelling, including headline construction, metadata, and keyword strategy for local news search.
• Use image and video editing tools including Canva, Adobe Premiere, and Photoshop to produce and format digital assets for multiplatform distribution.
• Monitor digital analytics to evaluate content performance and inform editorial decisions on coverage and format.
• Coordinate with broadcast producers and reporters to adapt television news content for streaming and digital audiences.

What You Bring

• At least three years of experience in a digital newsroom, digital production, or video production environment.
• Hands-on experience with Canva, Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, or comparable nonlinear editing tools.
• Demonstrated understanding of social strategy, SEO, and emerging digital platforms as they apply to local news publishing.
• Strong editorial instincts and experience covering breaking news in a deadline-driven digital content workflow.
• Bachelor’s degree required, with a preference for Journalism or Communications.
• Availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays across any assigned shift.
