Shift start is 1:30 AM ET, Monday through Friday, making this an overnight, in-person role at the CBS News and Stations operation in New York.

Key Responsibilities

• Write copy for tease bars and story bars that appear on screen during the live morning news broadcast.
• Coordinate graphics orders and live elements with the director during interviews and breaking news segments.
• Select music for broadcast bump-ins and report all music usage to the Rights and Clearances team.
• Write and produce anchor lead-ins, teases, and other scripts as part of the daily live news production workflow.
• Produce and gather all elements for the daily “Caught Our Eye” franchise segment.
• Track and coordinate editorial and technical fixes to ensure the broadcast airs correctly across all time zones.

What You Bring

• A minimum of two years of control room experience in live news broadcasting is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to write broadcast copy accurately under strict deadline pressure in a live television environment.
• Solid research skills for sourcing data, footage, and visual material on short timelines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills suited to a live morning news production room.
• Comfort working overnight hours with consistent in-person presence required.
