About the Role

The Digital Producer works within the CBS Stations digital team, feeding content to CBS New York’s digital platforms while collaborating with CBS News teams across the northeast region. Day-to-day output spans everything from reactive breaking news coverage to longer-form enterprise pieces and topical YouTube compilations. This is a full-time, on-site position with a schedule that includes nights and weekends, consistent with how digital newsrooms in episodic television news actually operate.

Key Responsibilities

• Write, edit, and publish articles and live blogs in response to breaking news on deadline, often across multiple platforms simultaneously.
• Clip and package high-interest video content pulled from broadcast for distribution across the CBS News app, YouTube, and emerging digital platforms.
• Live stream breaking news events and curate longform content for the CBS New York YouTube channel.
• Use audience analytics alongside editorial judgment to prioritize and shape the daily content mix.
• Plan content around key news tentpoles and coordinate with the CBS New York television newsroom to extend and advance broadcast coverage digitally.
• Write and send push notifications and newsletters to the CBS New York audience base.

What You Bring

• Three or more years of experience producing content in a digital breaking news environment.
• Proven ability to write clearly and accurately under deadline pressure, with strong information gathering and copy editing skills.
• Comfort working across digital publishing platforms, video clipping tools, and content management systems used in broadcast news workflows.
• Experience balancing breaking news production with planned enterprise and longform digital storytelling.
• Familiarity with YouTube publishing, live streaming workflows, and newsletter platforms.
