Production Manager [VFX

WPP Production is hiring a Production Manager (VFX) based in London to sit at the centre of a large-scale CGI content operation serving Ford’s global marketing output. This role owns the full VFX pipeline from CAD model handoff through to final delivery, covering everything from feature animations and launch films to Build and Price stills and motion-based 360 assets. About the Role

The Production Manager (VFX) sits within WPP Production’s VFX, CGI, Motion and Automotive Content function, reporting to the Head of VFX Operations. Day to day, this person manages the CGI animation pipeline for Ford’s global platforms, coordinating artists across rigging, lighting, simulation, rendering, compositing, and finishing. The workload spans concurrent deliverables across social, digital, and broadcast-ready formats, so strong scheduling discipline and pipeline oversight are central to the job.

Key Responsibilities

• Own daily and weekly production planning across all Ford CGI content, including stills, animation sequences, mechanical explainers, launch films, and cross-platform social assets.
• Track progress through every stage of the VFX pipeline, including rigging, look development, keyframe and procedural animation, simulation, rendering optimization, and compositing.
• Manage the CAD to cleaned model handoff process and ensure all geometry and technical assets meet Ford’s CGI specifications before entering the production workflow.
• Identify bottlenecks across the post-production workflow early, then coordinate resourcing and scheduling adjustments to keep delivery on track.
• Coordinate versioning, internal reviews, client approvals, and final delivery across multiple asset types and time zones simultaneously.
• Ensure all CGI animation and stills output adheres to Ford’s established brand, visual, and technical standards throughout every pipeline stage.

What You Bring

• Proven experience managing a complex CGI or VFX pipeline in an animation studio, production company, or integrated agency environment.
• Solid understanding of 3D production disciplines including rigging, look development, lighting, FX simulation, rendering, and compositing.
• Experience scheduling high-volume, multi-format deliverables across concurrent productions with overlapping deadlines.
• Familiarity with automotive CGI production or technically detailed product animation is a strong advantage.
• Confidence working across multi-disciplinary teams in different time zones with clear, direct communication.
