Job Type
Disney is hiring a Recurring Remote Production Support Content (STATS) professional to work fully remote across the United States. This role sits within ESPN’s broadcast operations team, where the Talent Statistician feeds real-time stats, game trends, and storyline context directly to on-air talent and graphics producers during live sports broadcasts. It’s a role built for someone who lives and breathes sports data and understands how that information moves through a live television production workflow.
About the Role
The Recurring Remote Production Support Content (STATS) position operates inside ESPN’s live sports broadcast structure, supporting game-by-game productions as a remote contributor embedded in the broadcast crew via headset. On any given game day, this person is the bridge between raw statistical data and the people who put it on screen, whether that’s the play-by-play announcer needing a quick historical reference or the graphics producer pulling a stat for a lower-third. The role is part-time and recurring, meaning production assignments vary across the sports calendar.
Key Responsibilities
- Research team storylines, matchup history, potential records, and pregame information ahead of each live sports broadcast production.
- Confirm starting lineups, officiating crews, and any other production-critical pregame details with the crew before air.
- Deliver concise, accurate stat and trend information to announcers over headset without disrupting the on-air flow of the broadcast.
- Support graphics producers by providing play-by-play context and sourcing information for real-time on-screen graphics during live television production.
- Coordinate directly with team SID and PR contacts to resolve high-priority information requests during the game window.
- Maintain technical readiness for assigned broadcast systems and troubleshoot as needed within the remote production setup.
What You Bring
- Advanced working knowledge of sports rules, scoring systems, team positions, and historical statistics across relevant sports.
- Prior experience in a stats, graphics, or live broadcast production support role is strongly preferred.
- Strong computer proficiency with the ability to network, troubleshoot systems, and adapt to broadcast technology under live production pressure.
- Clear verbal communication skills suited to a headset-based, multi-department live production environment.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a bachelor’s degree in communications, television production, or a related field is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required, with availability to work weekends, nights, holidays, and travel when production demands it.
Why This Role
Disney’s ESPN operation is one of the largest live sports broadcast networks in the world, and a recurring role here puts you inside a production infrastructure that spans hundreds of live events annually. The pay rate for this remote role is $35.00 to $65.00 per hour, with the actual rate depending on geographic region, experience, and skills, and select benefits may be available depending on position level. For a stats professional looking to build credits in live television production, this is a direct line into a major broadcast operation.
Apply now for the Recurring Remote Production Support Content (STATS) role with Disney and bring your broadcast knowledge into one of the most watched live production environments in sports television.
