Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

Hearst Networks is hiring a Video Editor for Social Content on a contract basis in London, England. This is a post-production role sitting within Hearst Canvas, the company’s dedicated digital content studio, focused on cutting full episodes down into platform-ready clips for YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram. It suits an editor who is comfortable moving between social content workflow and broadcast source material without losing the thread of what makes a clip actually perform.

About the Role

Hearst Canvas operates as the social and digital arm of Hearst Networks, producing and repurposing content across major streaming and social platforms. As the Video Editor for Social Content, you will be working directly with talent and producers to pull clips from long-form episodic television, shaping them into short-form pieces that retain story and pacing. The role is hybrid, with two days per week at the Hammersmith office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Edit full broadcast episodes into short-form social clips optimised for YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram formats and aspect ratios.
  • Manage multi-camera edits within a social content post-production workflow, maintaining editorial consistency across platforms.
  • Work closely with producers and on-screen talent to understand the editorial intent behind each piece of source material.
  • Deliver polished cuts to deadline across multiple concurrent social channel launches.
  • Apply strong storytelling instincts and pacing judgement to condense episodic television content without losing audience engagement.
  • Maintain organised project files and versioning across all active social content deliverables.

What You Bring

  • Proven experience editing short-form social content derived from long-form or episodic television productions.
  • Confident working with multi-camera source footage in a professional post-production environment.
  • Solid command of industry-standard editing software, with a timeline that reflects clean, deliberate craft.
  • A track record of delivering content across YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram with an understanding of what each platform requires editorially.
  • Ability to work independently to brief within a hybrid production setup.

Why This Role

Hearst Networks carries a substantial content slate across factual and lifestyle television, and Hearst Canvas sits at the point where that broadcast material meets social distribution at scale. For an editor looking to build credits across both episodic television post-production and social content workflow, this is a role with genuine breadth. The Hammersmith base puts you inside a working media hub with real production infrastructure around you.

Apply now for the Video Editor for Social Content position at Hearst Networks and bring your editorial instincts to one of London’s established broadcast and digital content operations.
