About the Role

Senior Animation Artists at Mikros Animation work closely with the animation lead and supervisor to hit creative targets across active projects, balancing quality with production schedules. A typical day involves refining shot performance, troubleshooting rig and pipeline issues with technical teams, and iterating on feedback to push animation quality forward. These are temporary contracts covering multiple positions, so the expectation is that artists can integrate quickly and contribute from day one.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver polished animation across a range of styles, from hyper-realistic creature and character work to more stylized approaches, depending on the creative direction of each project.
• Build convincing performances for characters, creatures, and objects that serve the story and align with the established visual language of the production.
• Work directly with rigging and technical teams to identify pipeline inefficiencies and resolve animation-specific technical problems as they arise.
• Maintain shot quality through ongoing self-review, actively seeking feedback from the animation supervisor and incorporating notes across multiple rounds of revision.
• Communicate shot progress and flag potential bottlenecks to leads and production coordinators before they become scheduling problems.
• Mentor junior animators within the department, sharing techniques and contributing to department-wide learning sessions that raise the overall quality bar.

What You Bring

• Several years of professional experience as an animator on feature film animation or high-end VFX productions, with credits that demonstrate a range of performance work.
• Strong technical fluency within a modern animation studio pipeline, including familiarity with industry-standard rigging conventions and asset management practices.
• Demonstrated ability to animate convincingly across multiple styles, with a reel that shows both realistic movement and exaggerated or stylized performance.
• Ability to work autonomously under a supervisor without requiring constant direction, managing your own shot list through production cycles.
• Experience contributing to technique development or workflow improvements at a studio level is a plus.
