Job Position(s): Videographer
Project Type: Film & Television
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

Rock Family of Companies is hiring a Videographer based in Detroit, MI to join their in-house production team. This role covers the full video production workflow, from preproduction planning through camera operation and post-production editing, producing branded content that supports one of the largest mortgage companies in the country. It’s a strong fit for a generalist shooter-editor who can own a project end to end and step into different production roles as the job demands.

About the Role

The Videographer sits within Rock Family of Companies’ internal content team, producing branded video across a range of formats and project scales. Day-to-day work moves between the field and the edit suite, handling everything from location shoots to finishing in Adobe Premiere Pro. Preproduction duties are part of the job, meaning this person works directly with producers on logistics, not just showing up on shoot day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take video projects from initial concept through final delivery, managing production and post-production workflow at every stage.
  • Operate professional camera, lighting, and audio equipment on location and in studio environments.
  • Edit footage in Adobe Premiere Pro, cutting efficiently to meet brand standards and project deadlines.
  • Apply and update motion graphics on video assets, with Adobe After Effects used for graphic work as needed.
  • Support preproduction alongside producers, contributing to casting, location scouting, shot lists, shooting schedules, and budget management.
  • Make informed creative decisions during filming and in the edit to maintain visual consistency with the company’s established brand voice.

What You Bring

  • At least 3 years of experience in video production, broadcast production, or a closely related field.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro as a primary editing platform.
  • Solid command of professional camera operation across varying production conditions.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe After Effects for motion graphics and compositing tasks.
  • Ability to shift between shooter, editor, and production support roles depending on what a project requires.

Why This Role

Rock Family of Companies operates a well-resourced internal content operation out of Detroit, giving this Videographer consistent work across a variety of branded video projects rather than the stop-and-start nature of freelance or agency work. The company offers a full benefits package covering health and wellness for team members and their families. For a video professional looking to build a stable career inside a large corporate production environment, this role offers real breadth of work.

Apply now for the Videographer position at Rock Family of Companies and bring your production experience to one of Detroit’s most prominent in-house teams.
