About the Role

Vine Studios is Netflix’s LA-based animation production facility, and the Production Technology team there functions as the primary technical backbone for everything from development through delivery. Day to day, this Sr. Engineer, Production Technology handles real-time troubleshooting across the facility, maintains calibration and preventative maintenance schedules, and works directly alongside the in-house VFX Manager to support color workflows and remote artist pipelines. Productions on the floor are series animation, so familiarity with the specific demands of episodic television post-production is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide daily on-site technical support across edit bays, specialty rooms, and editorial spaces at Vine Studios, including scheduled preventative maintenance and room calibration.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in real time, reading production context to triage urgency and escalate to Media Systems or Production Engineering when the issue requires Tier 2 or Tier 3 support.
• Work proactively with post-production executives, editors, and producers across multiple active animation series to stay ahead of issues before they affect a cut or review session.
• Partner with the in-house VFX Manager to support VFX pipeline and color workflow needs for productions working both on-site and remotely.
• Contribute to root cause analysis on recurring incidents, reducing repeat support calls and improving overall post-production workflow efficiency across the facility.
• Support facility upgrade projects including screening room and edit bay refreshes, coordinating directly with engineering stakeholder teams.

What You Bring

• 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience in production technology or post engineering at a post-production facility, broadcast studio, or animation studio.
• Fluency in post-production workflows for episodic television, including editorial systems, color pipelines, and screening room infrastructure.
• Proven experience working directly with creative and production stakeholders, translating technical problems into plain language without losing accuracy.
• Comfort supporting VFX pipeline workflows alongside dedicated VFX or color teams in a series animation environment.
• Experience managing escalations and coordinating between tiered technical support teams within a larger studio or streaming operation.
