NBCUniversal is hiring an Art Director to join the in-house creative studio at Comcast Advertising, with positions available across North Bethesda, New York, Miramar, and Southfield. This role sits inside a B2B brand studio supporting FreeWheel, Media Solutions, and Universal Ads, producing go-to-market campaigns, sizzle reels, event creative for NewFronts and Cannes Lions, and digital experiences across all three brands. It suits a senior designer who still makes the work, someone with real multidisciplinary range across brand, digital, and presentation design who also knows how to bring up the people around them.
About the Role
The Art Director operates within a creative studio structure, reporting to the Head of Design and working alongside a peer Art Director, with direct management of Associate Art Directors and designers at multiple levels. The production output is high-volume and spans integrated campaign work, video production support, brand systems, paid digital media, and large-format event materials built to industry event standards. A typical week moves between concepting visual directions, reviewing team work, building presentation decks, and stepping directly into production files to close the gap between direction and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Concept and execute visual directions for integrated B2B campaigns across three distinct brand identities, from initial exploration through final production-ready delivery.
- Formally manage and develop Associate Art Directors and junior designers, setting creative standards and elevating output through hands-on execution rather than delegation alone.
- Art direct across formats including digital and paid media, sizzle reels, video frames, sales presentations, brand toolkits, and large-format event creative for high-visibility industry events.
- Build and maintain scalable design systems across a multi-brand environment, identifying where visual standards need to evolve and taking ownership of that process.
- Use working knowledge of HTML and CSS to build, debug, and QA digital executions directly, removing friction between design and production when it matters.
- Introduce new tools, formats, and rapid prototyping workflows that close the gap between concept and proof of concept in real production conditions.
What You Bring
- 5 to 8 years of progressive design experience, with 2 to 3 years directing and managing creative in an agency or in-house studio environment.
- A portfolio demonstrating original concept development and executed craft across digital, brand, and campaign work at a clearly Art Director level.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud and Figma, with the ability to build clean, production-ready files at speed.
- Working knowledge of HTML and CSS sufficient to debug, QA, and step into digital executions without relying on a separate development handoff.
- Multidisciplinary range across brand design, digital production, presentation design, and motion-aware formats.
