Mikros Animation is hiring Senior and Mid Modeling Artists across three open positions in Montreal, Canada. These roles sit within the modeling department, producing high-quality mechanical and organic 3D assets for high-end photorealistic VFX productions. About the Role

Mikros Animation is filling a Senior Organic/Mechanical Modeling Artist on a permanent basis, a Senior Organic Modeling Artist on contract, and a Mid-Level Mechanical Modeling Artist on contract, all targeting an ASAP start with contracts running through July 24th, 2026, with potential extension. Day to day, you are building complex assets from concept art, photo references, and scan data, then preparing those models for downstream departments including rigging, surfacing, and VFX. You work closely with your supervisor in dailies, address feedback in real time, and keep your deliverables technically clean and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Model complex mechanical and organic assets from concepts, photo references, or photogrammetry data to production standard topology.
• Maintain clean UV layouts, correct mesh artifacts, and verify that all assets meet the naming conventions and delivery specs of the VFX pipeline.
• Accurately reproduce proportions, volumes, and surface details whether reference material is complete, partial, or entirely absent.
• Prepare and export models to rigging, surfacing, and other downstream departments with full documentation of any non-standard decisions.
• Participate actively in dailies, incorporating artistic and technical notes from supervisors and adapting priorities to meet production deadlines.
• Share techniques and workflows with colleagues informally and contribute to improving department standards, including exploring procedural modeling and AI-assisted tools.

What You Bring

• Senior-level applicants should have a strong feature film production or episodic VFX credit list demonstrating complex organic or mechanical asset work.
• Proficiency in industry-standard modeling software such as Maya, ZBrush, or equivalent tools used in a professional post-production workflow.
• Mid-level applicants should demonstrate clean topology fundamentals and a working knowledge of how models hand off within a VFX pipeline.
• Familiarity with photogrammetry, procedural modeling techniques, or AI-assisted modeling tools is an asset across all three roles.
• Strong communication habits around flagging blockers, documenting decisions, and receiving feedback in a production environment.
