Job Position(s): Seeking Videographer – Wedding Coverage
Project Type: Film & Television
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

Jay is hiring a Videographer for wedding event coverage based in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. This role sits squarely in the event videography space, responsible for capturing ceremony and reception footage across a single-day shoot with a four-hour call window. It suits a freelance videographer with live event production experience who knows how to work independently and deliver polished footage without a crew holding their hand.

About the Role

This is a one-day freelance engagement with Jay, covering a private wedding on June 27, 2026, in Mississauga, with coverage running from 3:00 PM through approximately 7:00 PM. The work falls within the event videography and live production workflow, requiring the operator to move fluidly between ceremony and reception environments and make real-time decisions about framing, exposure, and moment prioritization. There is no second shooter confirmed, so the hired Videographer needs to operate as a complete one-person unit from arrival through wrap.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a professional camera rig throughout the ceremony and reception, capturing key editorial moments including vows, rings, first dances, and candid guest interactions.
  • Scout the venue on arrival to establish camera positions that maximize coverage without disrupting the event flow.
  • Manage all personal equipment, including camera body, lenses, audio capture tools, and any stabilization gear required for the shoot.
  • Deliver consistent exposure and color throughout varied lighting conditions, including indoor reception and any outdoor or transitional ceremony spaces.
  • Maintain a professional presence on a private event set, coordinating silently with photographers and other vendors as needed.
  • Organize and hand off raw footage following standard wedding videography deliverable protocols agreed upon before the shoot date.

What You Bring

  • Demonstrated experience in wedding videography or live event production, with a portfolio that shows real ceremony and reception coverage.
  • Ownership of professional camera equipment suitable for event videography, including audio capture capability.
  • Comfort shooting in run-and-gun conditions without direction from a producer or director on the floor.
  • Reliability and the professional conduct expected on a private client event set.

Why This Role

Jay is bringing on a Videographer for a confirmed date with a clear scope, which means no ambiguity around the call time or deliverables before you commit. The four-hour format is a straight single-afternoon engagement, well suited to a freelancer looking to fill a summer date with a clean, well-defined wedding videography booking. Rates are negotiable and discussed directly through the application process.

Submit your portfolio, relevant wedding videography credits, and rate expectations to be considered for this Videographer role with Jay in Mississauga.
