Netflix is hiring an Associate, Production Finance, Nonfiction based in Los Angeles, California. This role sits within the Nonfiction Production Finance team, where the day-to-day work centers on tracking budgets, processing show fundings, and keeping cost reporting on schedule across Netflix’s nonfiction television slate. It’s a fit for a finance or accounting professional who has spent time close to production and understands how money actually moves through episodic television.
About the Role
The Nonfiction Production Finance team works directly with partner production services companies and internal departments including Business Affairs, Post-Production, and Corporate Accounting to keep shows financially on track from greenlight through delivery. As an Associate, Production Finance, Nonfiction, you’ll be embedded in the production workflow, handling everything from budget mapping to onboarding external accounting teams to Netflix’s internal systems and policies. The role is based out of the Hollywood office with an in-office expectation of Monday through Thursday.
Key Responsibilities
- Process show fundings and talent payments in line with deal terms and production schedules across the nonfiction television slate.
- Track cash flow schedules and monitor budget drafts through each revision cycle, maintaining notes and version control throughout production.
- Ensure production cost reports from partner production services companies are submitted accurately and on time.
- Map production budgets to Netflix’s internal chart of accounts and maintain current show data within Netflix’s production database.
- Onboard production services company accounting teams to Netflix policies, serving as a point of contact for procedural questions during a show’s run.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of team workflows and internal systems as the nonfiction production finance function continues to scale.
What You Bring
- A minimum of four years in finance or accounting, with entertainment industry experience given strong preference.
- Hands-on proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, applied to production budgeting or cost reporting workflows.
- Familiarity with how production services companies operate within episodic television, including cost report structures and funding schedules.
- A degree in accounting or finance is preferred.
- The organizational discipline to manage multiple active productions simultaneously without dropping the thread on any of them.
