Broadcast Support Technician

Paramount is hiring a Broadcast Support Technician in Washington, DC to keep newsroom operations and live production facilities running without interruption. About the Role

This position operates within Paramount Skydance’s broadcast technology group, supporting live news events, special productions, and the day-to-day infrastructure that keeps editorial and production teams moving. On any given shift, that means troubleshooting a journalist’s VDI session, supporting a graphics operator during a live hit, or coordinating a server maintenance window without disrupting playout. The Tuesday through Saturday schedule reflects the reality of broadcast support work, where weekends, holidays, and overnight availability are part of the job.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver first-level technical support across broadcast systems, office hardware, and software tools used in daily newsroom and production operations.
• Troubleshoot audio systems, editing platforms, and post-production workflows to minimize downtime during live and recorded productions.
• Support network connectivity issues across WAN and LAN environments, including VPN, Citrix VDI, and remote access configurations.
• Assist with server maintenance across Microsoft and Linux environments, keeping backend infrastructure stable for broadcast and editorial teams.
• Provide on-site technical support during live news events and special productions, working under deadline pressure with minimal margin for error.
• Accurately document issues, processes, and workflows while actively managing multiple support requests in a live 24/7/365 environment.

What You Bring

• A bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and at least three years of broadcast or enterprise technology support experience.
• Hands-on experience with Active Directory, Microsoft O365, macOS, Android, iOS, and VPN technologies in an enterprise environment.
• Working knowledge of video production workflows including ingest, transcoding, media formats, transfer acceleration, delivery, and playout.
• The ability to pass required government background checks for access to government facilities in the DC area.
• Physical ability to lift and move equipment up to 45 pounds, and willingness to travel within the DC region approximately 10 percent of the time.
