ABOUT WYVERNWOOD

We are looking for ambitious and driven individuals to join a growing park operations team at Wyvernwood – The Enchanted Lost Kingdom.

Wyvernwood is a live immersive story-led adventure park set in a beautiful outdoor setting near Colchester, Essex.

Guests who visit Wyvernwood step through a Magic Portal into an enchanted Kingdom where dragons, fairies, warrior princesses, wizards, goblins, unicorns and a heroic sea captain roam. The story is brought to life through our team of fantastic actors. There are storytelling sessions and interactive experiences with Wyvernwood’s unique characters throughout the day.

THE ROLE

Wyvernwood is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Wardrobe Assistant to support the day-to-day care, maintenance, and organisation of costumes, mascots, wigs, and footwear. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring all wardrobe items are clean, well-presented, repaired, and performance-ready at all times.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain and organise costumes, wigs, footwear, and wardrobe accessories
• Carry out regular cleaning, laundering, steaming, and pressing of costume items
• Clean, store, and maintain wigs and hairpieces to professional standards
• Ensure footwear is cleaned, polished, repaired, and appropriately stored
• Perform basic costume and wardrobe repairs, including sewing, alterations, and emergency fixes
• Assist with costume preparation for performances, rehearsals, fittings, or events
• Conduct routine checks for damage, wear, or missing items
• Maintain stock levels of wardrobe and cleaning supplies
• Ensure wardrobe areas remain tidy, hygienic, and organised
• Support quick costume changes and backstage wardrobe duties when required
• Follow health and safety procedures, including proper handling of cleaning products and delicate materials

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Previous experience in wardrobe, costume, theatre, film, TV, or live events/visitor attractions preferred
• Strong sewing and garment repair skills
• Knowledge of fabric care, wig maintenance, and costume handling
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Flexible, dependable, and able to work as part of a team
• A proactive attitude with a willingness to assist across all wardrobe duties

DESIRABLE QUALITIES

• Passion for costume and wardrobe presentation
• Understanding of backstage or production environments
• Ability to remain calm and efficient during live performances or busy production schedules

PAY

Age-related minimum wage – negotiable depending on experience.

WORKING HOURS

• Zero Hours Contract
• Must be able to provide at least 4 hours weekly to Wyvernwood
