Warner Bros. Discovery is hiring a VP, Television Development & Production to join Alloy Entertainment at their Burbank studio complex. This role sits squarely in the television development pipeline, covering everything from identifying adaptable IP and finding writers to overseeing pilots and staffing current series. It’s a fit for a senior development executive who has run projects from pitch to production and knows how to operate inside a major studio structure.

About the Role

Alloy Entertainment is a production and IP development label under the Warner Bros. Discovery umbrella, known for adapting literary and branded properties into episodic television and streaming series. The VP, Television Development & Production works across both the creative and logistical sides of the development process, carrying projects from source material identification through network and streamer pitches, then into production oversight once a series gets a greenlight. A typical week might move between giving script notes, sitting in staffing meetings, and traveling to set to cover an active production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate Alloy-owned properties and outside material suitable for adaptation as television or streaming series.
  • Source and hire writers for episodic development, series staffing, and streaming projects across drama and other genres.
  • Work directly with writers through the development process, including pitches, outlines, and script notes at each stage.
  • Oversee pilot production and ongoing series, serving as the production company’s point of contact on set when required.
  • Act as the primary interface between Alloy, the studio, and agency partners across all active projects.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously across different stages of the television development and production cycle.

What You Bring

  • Eight or more years of relevant experience in television development, with at least two years at the director level or above at a studio, network, streamer, or production company.
  • Demonstrated experience staffing a scripted series, including identifying and placing writers at various levels.
  • Hands-on production experience, including time on set during active series or pilot production.
  • Strong script reading and creative analysis skills, with the ability to give clear, actionable story and script notes.
  • Working knowledge of current television and streaming markets, with genuine awareness of pop culture trends shaping commissioning decisions.

Why This Role

Warner Bros. Discovery operates one of the largest content portfolios in the industry, giving development executives here real access to IP, distribution infrastructure, and a wide network of creative relationships. Alloy Entertainment has a track record of bringing book and branded properties into episodic television, and this VP, Television Development & Production role puts someone at the center of that pipeline with meaningful creative authority. Burbank remains one of the core hubs of the American television production industry, and this position is embedded in that ecosystem.
