Job Position(s): Video Editor - Remote
Project Type: Film & Television
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

YO AI Labs is hiring a remote Video Editor to support an AI video annotation project based out of New York City, NY. This is a post-production contract role where editors review and annotate footage frame by frame, producing structured training data from video of robotic systems performing real-world tasks. It suits editors with a background in continuity, visual QA, or post-production workflow who want to apply their eye for timing and movement to a project outside traditional editorial.

About the Role

You’ll be working independently within an annotation pipeline rather than a traditional editorial suite, reviewing footage batches and flagging events, actions, and transitions with precision. The work is closer to a continuity supervisor or assistant editor reviewing cuts for inconsistencies than to a creative edit, but the core skill set is the same. A typical day involves working through assigned footage clips, using annotation tools to mark events at the frame level, and submitting QA notes on anything ambiguous or inconsistent.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review video footage of robotic arms performing tasks and identify actions, object interactions, and outcomes with frame-level accuracy.
  • Apply annotation markers to video events using dedicated tools, maintaining consistency across batches throughout the post-production workflow.
  • Conduct frame-by-frame analysis to determine precise timing, continuity breaks, and transition points within each clip.
  • Flag unclear footage, visual inconsistencies, and ambiguous moments with written documentation for the QA team.
  • Review completed annotations and provide quality-control feedback to maintain accuracy standards across the project.
  • Complete assigned annotation batches on schedule, managing your own time across a remote work structure.

What You Bring

  • Background in video editing, post-production, filmmaking, or audiovisual production at a professional or advanced independent level.
  • Hands-on experience reviewing footage for timing, movement, and visual consistency, as you would in assistant editing or continuity work.
  • Proficiency in at least one professional editing tool, including Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or Avid Media Composer.
  • Strong attention to detail at the frame level, with the ability to document observations clearly and concisely in writing.
  • Prior experience with video annotation, visual QA, or AI training data is a plus but not required.

Why This Role

YO AI Labs offers post-production professionals a way to work remotely on a technically demanding project that puts editorial analysis skills to direct use. The contractor structure is open to applicants across North America, Latin America, Europe, the UK, and Oceania, making it one of the more geographically flexible video editor contracts currently available. No background in robotics or AI is needed to contribute meaningfully from day one.

Apply now for the Video Editor role at YO AI Labs and put your post-production eye to work on something outside the cutting room.
