Video Editor and Motion Graphics Designer: 26

Job Position(s): Video Editor and Motion Graphics Designer: 26

Akraya is hiring a Video Editor and Motion Graphics Designer for a hybrid contract role based in San Diego, CA. This position sits within the product education space, focused on building customer-facing tutorial videos and in-app help content that walks users through software features and workflows. It’s a strong fit for a post-production editor who has crossed over into the instructional or tech content world and knows how to make complex UI feel approachable on screen.

About the Role

You’ll be working inside a product support content pipeline, handling everything from raw screen capture footage through to finished tutorial deliverables ready for customer deployment. A typical day involves assembling recorded walkthroughs in Premiere Pro, adding motion graphics callouts in After Effects, and mixing down clean audio for a final output that has to hold up across multiple product features simultaneously. This is a six-month W2 contract with the possibility of extension, so the post-production workflow here has real runway.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit and sequence raw screen recording footage into clear, paced tutorial videos that guide customers through product features step by step.
• Integrate and mix audio tracks to achieve professional, broadcast-quality sound on instructional content.
• Build basic motion graphics elements in Adobe After Effects, including text callouts, cursor highlights, and UI emphasis animations.
• Apply and maintain brand guidelines consistently across all video deliverables throughout the production workflow.
• Manage concurrent video projects with overlapping timelines, tracking each asset through capture, edit, review, and delivery.
• Capture and represent product UI and UX with precision, ensuring on-screen content is accurate and up to date with current software versions.

What You Bring

• Three or more years of experience editing product support or software tutorial videos in a professional post-production context.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and Camtasia, with intermediate working knowledge of Adobe After Effects.
• Advanced audio editing skills, including dialogue cleanup, level balancing, and clean final mix for instructional content.
• Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple video projects without losing detail quality on UI-focused screen capture material.
• Scriptwriting, storyboarding, or closed captioning experience is a plus but not required.
