Rodeo FX is hiring a Senior VFX Producer for a permanent position based in Montreal, Canada. This role sits at the center of the VFX pipeline, owning the budget and schedule for multiple shows from bid through delivery while keeping clients, supervisors, and departments aligned throughout production. About the Role

The Senior VFX Producer works directly alongside VFX Supervisors and department heads to drive projects from initial cost evaluation through final delivery, covering both episodic television and feature film production. Day to day, this means tracking budgets and schedules in Shotgun, fielding client communications, managing change orders, and making sure the right artists are on the right work at the right time. The production management side is just as much a leadership role, with direct responsibility for mentoring junior producers and conducting performance reviews.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with the VFX Supervisor and Business Development to evaluate bids and establish project strategy from the earliest stages of a new show.
• Maintain detailed schedule and budget tracking in Shotgun, flagging variances early and keeping the project plan in line with the original quote and client requirements.
• Communicate regularly with clients on project status, new shot requests, and scope changes, providing revised bids that protect both deadlines and margins.
• Assign key talent to projects in consultation with department managers, confirming resource needs and approving overtime as the production schedule requires.
• Lead mid-production and post-mortem reviews to identify workflow gaps and recommend process improvements across the VFX pipeline.
• Mentor production team members through training, regular feedback, and performance reviews, escalating specific development needs to the Head of Department.

What You Bring

• Several years of producing experience on high-volume VFX projects, with credits that span both episodic television and feature film production.
• Hands-on proficiency with Shotgun for scheduling, tracking, and reporting across multiple simultaneous shows.
• A track record of managing complex client relationships and negotiating change orders without derailing the production schedule.
• Experience building and leading production teams, including mentoring coordinators and junior producers through live projects.
• Strong command of budgeting and financial forecasting within a VFX studio environment.
