Job Position(s): VFX Pipeline TD Hybrid Remote, 2 Locations
Project Type: Feature Film
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

DNEG is hiring a VFX Pipeline TD across two locations, Bengaluru and Mumbai, in a hybrid remote capacity. This role sits within the Production Technology department and is focused on building, maintaining, and troubleshooting the pipeline infrastructure that keeps VFX production moving across feature film and episodic television projects. It suits a technically grounded TD who understands both the software engineering side and the realities of a live production environment.

About the Role

The VFX Pipeline TD at DNEG works inside the Production Technology team, supporting artists and supervisors across multiple shows simultaneously. Day to day, this means writing tools, resolving pipeline bottlenecks, and ensuring asset and shot data flows correctly between departments like modeling, rigging, lighting, and compositing. The work directly affects how efficiently artists can do their jobs on productions at scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain pipeline tools that support VFX production workflow across multiple concurrent feature film and episodic television projects.
  • Troubleshoot pipeline failures and data flow issues between DCC applications including Maya, Houdini, and Nuke to minimize artist downtime.
  • Write clean, maintainable Python code to automate repetitive production tasks and extend existing pipeline systems.
  • Work directly with VFX supervisors and department leads to identify production bottlenecks and deliver technical solutions on schedule.
  • Manage and version shot and asset data across the pipeline, ensuring consistency between departments throughout a show’s production lifecycle.
  • Document new tools and pipeline processes so artists and coordinators can work independently without constant TD intervention.

What You Bring

  • Solid experience as a Pipeline TD or Technical Director within a VFX studio or post-production facility.
  • Strong Python scripting ability with hands-on experience building production tools inside Maya, Houdini, or Nuke.
  • Familiarity with asset management systems, render farm workflows, and shot tracking software used in large-scale VFX production.
  • Credits on feature film or high-end episodic television productions, ideally at a major VFX studio.
  • Working knowledge of Linux environments and version control systems such as Git.

Why This Role

DNEG is one of the most consistently credited VFX studios working in feature film production today, with a slate that spans major studio tentpoles and prestige episodic television. The hybrid remote structure across Bengaluru and Mumbai gives this VFX Pipeline TD genuine flexibility while still connecting you to a large, experienced technical team. The scale of productions here means the pipeline problems are real and the solutions you build will have direct impact on hundreds of artists.

If you are a VFX Pipeline TD looking to work at the studio level on high-profile productions, apply now to join DNEG.
