Oak View Group is hiring a part-time Camera Operator at CURE Insurance Arena in Trenton, New Jersey. This role sits within the arena’s game presentation and live production department, where the Camera Operator shoots live hockey footage for both the in-house videoboard and an outgoing live stream. It suits a shooter with a background in live sports production or broadcast videography who can read a game and react without being directed on every shot.

About the Role

The Camera Operator works directly with the production team covering Trenton IronHawks games, which mark professional hockey’s inaugural season at the arena. A typical game day includes pre-show equipment checks, camera setup, and troubleshooting ahead of the broadcast, followed by a full live sports production shift running through final teardown. The output feeds both the arena videoboard and a live stream, so consistency between operators and clean handoffs between shots matter throughout.

Key Responsibilities

• Cover live hockey action throughout each game, capturing key plays, player movement, and crowd reactions for the videoboard and live stream broadcast.
• Perform pre-show camera checks covering white balance, iris, focus, and wireless signal integrity before each production begins.
• Assist with live production setup and equipment testing, including troubleshooting any technical issues prior to puck drop.
• Follow game scripts and event cues to anticipate required shots while reacting instinctively to unscripted in-game moments.
• Maintain clear communication with the production team and other camera operators throughout the broadcast to ensure consistent coverage across all positions.
• Set up, maintain, and strike all camera equipment before and after each event, leaving gear properly stored and ready for the next production.

What You Bring

• One to four years of experience in live sports production, broadcast videography, or livestreaming, with prior live sports coverage preferred.
• Working knowledge of camera fundamentals including white balance, shutter speed, aperture, and focus in a live broadcast environment.
• Comfort operating in arena production workflows where timing is set by game scripts, production cues, and unpredictable live action.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required; coursework or training in broadcasting, communications, or film and video production is a plus.
