About the Role

The Temporary Social Video Editor works inside Delish’s editorial operation, which reaches a substantial monthly audience across digital and social platforms under the Hearst umbrella. Day-to-day production involves conceiving original content ideas, capturing footage on DSLR and smartphone, and cutting finished videos with graphics, captions, sound design, and platform-optimized pacing. The work moves quickly, with multiple projects running in parallel against editorial deadlines, requiring strong short-form video production instincts at every stage of the process.

Key Responsibilities

• Self-shoot and edit social-first video content for Delish across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and emerging platforms, handling each project from concept through final export.
• Develop original content concepts tied to food trends, recipes, restaurant coverage, and pop culture, aligned with the editorial calendar.
• Capture footage using professional cameras, smartphones, and basic lighting and audio rigs suited to a social video production environment.
• Deliver polished cuts with text overlays, motion graphics, music, transitions, and captions formatted to each platform’s specifications.
• Work directly with editors, producers, and the social team to ensure video output supports audience growth priorities.
• Monitor platform best practices and trending formats to keep content current and performing within social video distribution pipelines.

What You Bring

• Two or more years of hands-on experience creating and editing social video content, with a portfolio of self-shot and self-edited work.
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, or a comparable professional editing application.
• Demonstrated experience shooting on DSLR cameras and smartphones across short-form video production formats.
• Solid command of vertical video formats and the platform-specific requirements that govern social content delivery.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven editorial setting, working independently within a cross-functional team.
