About the Role

This position operates within the digital streaming division of FOX13, contributing to FOX LOCAL and the broader live streaming production infrastructure that FTS runs across its 29 owned-and-operated stations. On any given day, this producer is running a live stream alongside a host, pulling in breaking news, building graphics on the fly, and managing audience interaction in real time. The workflow is closer to live event production than traditional local news, with no show rundown to fall back on.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce and direct live news streams in real time, controlling the visual flow of the broadcast by creating pop-up graphics and data overlays as stories develop.
• Book and produce guests for podcast-style interviews and live reports that feed directly into the stream without a pre-written rundown structure.
• Drive viewer retention by integrating live audience comments, polls, and user-generated content into the stream as it airs.
• Work alongside a host to cover a full range of topics including breaking news, politics, business, and sports within a single continuous live streaming production.
• Monitor social media platforms in real time to identify trending stories and audience signals that can be folded directly into the live broadcast.
• Manage multiple editorial and production priorities simultaneously, staying several steps ahead of what is currently on screen.

What You Bring

• Hands-on experience in streaming video production and editing, with knowledge of TriCaster considered a strong asset.
• A proven track record working in live broadcast production or live digital streaming environments where speed and editorial judgment are equally critical.
• Strong understanding of social media platforms and how digital trends translate into live content decisions.
• The ability to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays, as dictated by a live news production schedule.
• Editorial judgment sharp enough to make real-time decisions on story selection, sourcing, and presentation without a producer chain above you in the moment.
